What Is Reiki?
*See more about the different forms of Reiki I work with below.
“Reiki is a form of hands-on healing or therapeutic touch. The word “Reiki” is Japanese. Its simplest translation means: to bridge the flow of wisdom, guidance, and healing from the source of this vital life-giving energy. This is the energy that animates all life. It is a force that has been identified in various languages, across cultures, and in even in science as Chi, Prana, Ti, the Biofield, and more. Ultimately, Reiki shines a light on our deepest wounds and brings them to the surface where we cannot only see what causes our pains more clearly, but also identify what steps we need to take to move past them”.
“Reiki is not a religion, but it embraces prayer, meditation, divine inspiration, intuition, and the great mystery of life. It is not a means intended to diagnose or prevent disease and is instead a complimentary form of energy therapy. Alongside other treatments Reiki is unlikely to encounter negative side effects. It can provide relief from daily mind-chatter, pain, grief, trauma, insomnia, anxiety, noise, stress, and at the very least give a brief period of peace when needed the most”.

Usui Reiki Ryoho
Reiki is a Japanese form of hands on healing. Shin-Shin KaiZen Usui Reiki Ryoho (The Usui Reiki Treatment Method for Improvement of Body and Mind), is one style of Reiki originating in Japan during early 1900s. Although Reiki has been accessible since time immemorial, this is the era within which it found its footing. It was formulated by Mikao Usui Sensei and having been among the few Reiki systems that survived WWII, became the predominate form practiced throughout the world thereafter. As such, it can be traced as the foundation of many styles used today. Those who practice it follow the traditions as they have been passed down through its lineage. Many of those of us who practice it here in the U.S. incorporate the teachings passed down through Chujiro Hyashi Sensei, one of the 20 teachers Usui trained, as well as the teacher he trained, Hawayo Takata Sensei. Among the sacred aspects of these treatments is a formal set of hand positions which when applied to various locations have been well established to promote the healing of mind, body, emotions, and spirit.

Holy Fire® III Reiki
Holy Fire® Reiki can be considered an upgrade to traditional Reiki. It is a type of Reiki energy and a system of Reiki healing based on Holy Fire® energy. It is noticeably more refined and comes from a higher level of consciousness. The use of the word Holy is not intended to have religious meaning. The word has its root meaning to be whole and complete and this is how it is used as a spiritual energy that creates wholeness through purification, healing, empowerment, and guidance.
In addition to using it during treatments, it brings a new methodology for initiation. All levels of Usui and Karuna Reiki® may be taught using this methodology where the traditional Attunement process is replaced with Experiences and Ignitions depending on the level of initiation.

Karuna Reiki®
It is important to understand that Karuna Reiki® is not a substitute for Usui Reiki, but the next step after Reiki Master. It is the result of extended research into healing techniques of various cultures and is of a higher vibration and more powerful.
Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as "compassionate action." The energy is very well suited for deep healing and helps release deeply seated issues on the cellular level. This type of Reiki is also good at breaking up the negative patterns we unconsciously use to insulate ourselves from the truth, thus shattering delusion and denial. It heals the shadow self, provides a sense of self love and restores balance.

These are not the only forms of Reiki that exist. There are many, but Holy Fire® III Reiki, Karuna Reiki® , and Usui Reiki systems are what I have been taught and initiated to teach and give sessions for.
*Reiki is considered a compliment to conventional medicine and should never be considered a substitute. Please always refer to your medical physician.
